Other golf courses of the area are
Aboyne, Banchory and Braemar
All again close to River Dee
Balmoral Castle, the royal residence, is only 8 miles away
Castle is partly open to everyone and afternoon tea is popular in the summer months 🍰🫖
King Charles is a patron of Ballater GC.
Ballater Golf Club was founded in 1892, originally as a nine hole course, on land owned by the Laird of Invercauld. When farmland became available in 1905, the course was expanded to eighteen holes.
Several holes lie next to the River Dee. Ballater and its golf course lie within a circle of hills with glorious views
The medium length course can best be described as heathland, although farther away from the river there are some distinct parkland characteristics.
